The Future of Collaboration in Health Care

Seven in 10 hospitals and health systems will increase collaboration with other providers and payers on population health over the next five years.

In Futurescan 2018-2023, Mike Leavitt—former Utah governor and former secretary of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services—notes that health care leaders should develop more collaborative affiliations as the field becomes less siloed under value-based care.

Results from the Futurescan national survey show most hospital and health system leaders agree: 71% of respondents predict that, over the next five years, their organization will increase collaboration with other providers (e.g., doctors, hospitals, post-acute care organizations) and payers on population health management as a strategy to improve clinical outcomes.
